A case for FGM enters Machakos Law Courts as culture takes the stand

Now to a controversial court case that is seeking to legalize female genital mutilation in Kenya. A female medical doctor in Machakos is asking the court to allow adult women who want to get the cut to be allowed to do so. Dr. Tatu Kamau says the laws prohibiting FGM are unconstitutional. And as Timothy Otieno now reports, the case has re?opened debate on a practice long considered by campaigners as retrogressive.
