Business Today Discussion: AFC offering sustainable agri-business funding

Lucas Meso is committed to ushering Africa into a new light of an empowered people, a people committed to realize the very best themselves, able to derive grit and strength off the adversity and challenges the continent endures, and aspiring a shared dream of freer, just and prosperous continent. The agricultural sector contributes about 25% of the GDP, generates about 60% of the foreign exchange and provides about 70% of employment to the population. In addition, the sector helps to meet the nation’s food requirements and industrial raw material needs.  The growth of the sector remains slow compared to the first 20 years in post independent Kenya, a key constraint being inaccessibility of credit by farmers especially the small-scale farmers that accounts for 75% of the total agricultural output and 70% of the marketed produce.
