Tour operators demand the resignation of Senior Marine Park Warden Dadley Tsiganyiu

16th January, 2018

Tour operators at the Watamu tourism circuit took to the streets of Watamu  yesterday to demand the resignation of the Watamu marine park senior warden dadley tsiganyiu over what they termed as mismanagement of the Watamu Marine Park. Members of the Watamu association of boat owners and operators (WABO) assembled at the blue bay beach from where they started a vigorous procession that took almost an hour.WABO chairman Abdi Mjaidi who led the protests later told journalists that since Tsinganyiu took over as senior warden in June last year, no money had been remitted to WABO accounts despite an existing agreement. The concession he said is commission money they are given by the kenya wildlife service for promoting the area with tourists’ numbers and they are entitled to a ticket fee whenever a single boat carries at least ten tourists.
