We start with the al shabaab attack in lamu early today

 and one person was killed and several security officers

  injured when suspected Al shabaab militants ambushed

  buses in lamu on their way to Mombasa.The buses

   which were being escorted by police on their way to

 Malindi and Mombasa were attacked at around 11 in the

  morning. The attackers are said to have opened fire on the

  police officers damaging their two vehicles during fire

exchange. Speaking in Nairobi today, Lamu senator Anwar

  Loitiptip condemned the attack and said some local

 residents could be aiding the Al shaab to carry out

    attacks.
