Sources suggest that disquiet brewing after ODM scooped the chairmanship of both the public accounts committee and the public investment committee. The other NASA parties, notably the ANC, are understood to be unhappy about the development. NASA leader Raila Odinga met with all the candidates who lost in the contest, in an apparent attempt to bridge the divide. The former PM met with Butere MP Tindi Mwale who lost to ODM's Abdiswamid Shariff in the PIC chairmanship race. Mwale was elected on an ANC ticket. The two watchdog committees are traditionally headed by opposition parties as their mandate involves interrogating government decisions with regard to the expenditure of public funds. NASA had initially boycotted parliamentary sessions and has only just begun engaging with the house committees.
