In what is being termed a world first, major horticultural producer Oserian development company, has signed its 4,600 workers onto a mobile based health care insurance cover. The move coincides with a visit to the country by Dutch investors seeking investment opportunities in the health sector this week. It also marks a key milestone for the welfare of workers at the expansive Naivasha-based flower farm and adds to a host of staff programmers that the farm has rolled out, that have gone on to become industry benchmarks. Under the scheme, over 8,000 users made up of employees and close family members will receive an M-tiba wallet on their mobile phone, allowing them to get access to outpatient care at Oserian health centers.
