Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho’s academic papers’ are in the news again tonight. A Nairobian Abdallah Juma has moved to court seeking to stop IEBC from clearing Joho to contest in the august polls saying that Joho does not meet the education requirement set out in the constitution. Jumadent claims that the degree which Joho is holding is fake and therefore does not qualify him to hold or vie for the office of the governor of any county in Kenya. Through his lawyer Irungu Kangata, the petitioner is seeking a declaration that Joho tenure as a governor for the county of Mombasa between 2013 and 2017 was illegal.
