47 DAYS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Machakos County govt accused of drilling many incomplete boreholes

2nd December, 2016

The auditor general Edward Ouko has raised concern over the drilling of boreholes and irregular distribution of water tanks by the Machakos county government.  The auditor’s latest report accuses the county government of drilling many incomplete boreholes which have not benefited the community despite sinking millions of shillings in the project.  And as Patrick Amimo reports, a section of residents told KTN news that lack of closer supervision and a lethargic approach to development projects by county officials has contributed to shoddy work, stalled projects and wastage of public funds in the county.
