After a five-year period of low tourism numbers and ensuing harsh economic times, Lamu Island is slowly regaining its glory. The county which hit an all-time low following terror incidents and travel advisories is hosting the Lamu cultural festival which has drawn upto 150, 000 domestic and foreign tourists. Residents and entrepreneurs in the area are optimistic that better days are coming.
