KTN Prime: KCSE culprits get charged in Nyeri court for examination material tampering, 8/11/16

A secondary school principal, an examinations supervisor and an administration police officer alleged to have tampered with a Kenya certificate of secondary education examination paper were today charged before a Nanyuki court. Joseph Weru, Lucy Gathiru Michire and Laban Murage denied a joint charge of damaging examination materials. They were charged that yesterday at Gatuanyaga secondary school in Kieni east, Nyeri county, they willfully and maliciously damaged the KCSE 2016 chemistry paper one examination material package by creating two holes on the said package with intent to access the chemistry paper. Murage who is an AP Sergeant was faced with another count of neglect to prevent a felony, whereby he was accused of failing to use all reasonable cause to prevent the damage. The accused were granted sh800, 000 bonds with a similar surety or an alternative of sh300, 000 cash bail.
