Cecily Kariuki urges youths in Meru County to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta

6th November, 2016

Youth and Gender Cabinet Secretary Cecily Kariuki has asked youths in Meru County to collect their identity cards that are still pending at local Huduma Centre and vote for  the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta. The remarks by the CS are bound to irk opposition leaders as they will be viewed as campaign for the re-election of President Kenyatta contrary to expectations that she should be neutral. In her speech, the CS said that President Kenyatta had initiated a lot of development projects and should therefore be re-elected. Kariuki observed that more than 2,000 IDs are still lying uncollected at the Meru Huduma Centre. She was speaking when she presented youth and Uwezo funds worth ksh. 19 million.
