A magistrate has today withdrawn from a Ksh 22 million narcotics case in Mombasa citing government interference in the trial of a Seychellois and four Kenyans charged with trading in heroin. Chief magistrate Julius Nang'ea abandoned the case saying he could no longer entertain state interference in the trial following the august 14 2015 state sanctioned destruction of the yacht on which the suspects were allegedly arrested, and in which the police claim the heroin was found. Nange’ea said the state had trampled the principle of rule of law by not respecting courts.
