The Kenya ministry of education has reacted sharply to the developments in Siaya County where standard eight candidates were given mock examination papers bearing the picture of the Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga. The Cabinet secretary for education Dr Fred Matiang’i has said the mock exams are being done contrary to the national government policies on education. Matiang’i has therefore sent packing the Siaya county director of education and six sub-county directors of education whom he says bear the greatest responsibility for the gross violation of set guidelines. He has also dissolved the Siaya county education board and asked relevant agencies to nominate new members with immediate effect. The said mock examinations have also been cancelled. Let’s now speak to our reporter Rashid Ronald who is joining us live from Bondo in Siaya County.
