Commissioners of the independent electoral and boundaries commission have issued a resignation notice to President Uhuru Kenyatta. The resignation will however take effect once new commissioners are sworn in. The move now paves way for the advertisement of the position of commissioners. A selection panel to recruit new commissioners is expected to be in place in the next seven days. Jubilee has already forwarded to the speaker of the national assembly names of its nominees to the IEBC selection panel.
