The fate of Chief Justice nominee Justice David Maraga now lies with the national assembly, after president Uhuru Kenyatta formally submitted the name to parliament earlier this week for grilling. Maraga trounced 11 other candidates who had been shortlisted for the Chief Justice job, emerging the favourite for the judicial service commission which was conducting the interviews. Until his nomination Maraga was a judge of the court of appeal. Parliament is expected to embark on Maraga’s grilling after returning from recess
