Weekend @ One: GEMA step in to reconcile Embu-Mbeere elders, 2/10/2016

2nd October, 2016

GEMA elders from the larger MT Kenya region have stepped in to unite the warring groups of Embu and Mbeere councils of elders who have recently disagreed over the endorsement of political leaders vying for various political seats in Embu County. Businessman Peter Munga, the GEMA chairman said that they have taken the initiative to talk to the warring councils of elders to restore the respect and dignity of the elders in the society.  Munga said that the elders should act as a symbol of unity for the community. Among those who attended the reconciliation ceremony was public service and youth affairs CS Sicily Kariuki.
