Monday Night News: First ever Mining Forum to be held in Kenya, 26/9/2016

26th September, 2016

In a bid to lure investors into Kenya’s nascent mining sector, the ministry of mining will be hosting the first ever regional mining forum. The event dubbed the Kenya mining forum has so far attracted at least 200 delegates from Africa. The event will serve as opportunity for industry players to engage and take stock of the gains the industry has made. Kenya recently enacted the mining bill into law which is expected to uphold transparency in the sector. According to mining cabinet secretary Dan Kazungu, the forum will be a milestone for Kenya as it comes on the back of an ongoing airborne survey which is expected to map out Kenya’s mineral resources that will be critical for potential investors.
