Women MPs under the Kenya women parliamentary association (KEWOPA) have decried the increasing cases of female genital mutilation in Kisii and Nyamira counties. The MPs further castigated some medics for abetting the vice by accepting to be paid some fee for the illegal act. The MPs who included Dr Susan Chebet and Regina Nyeris urged the Kisii community to abandon the tradition terming it backward.
