Funds for the preparation of World Under 18 championships not yet allocated, KTN Prime 9/20/2016

Preparations for the 2017 World Under 18 Athletics Championships are behind schedule due to financial challenges that have hit the local organizing committee the Safaricom Stadium Kasarani is set to welcome hundreds of athletes from all over the world for the World Under 18 Athletics Championships, crucial renovation works like laying of a tartan track are yet to begin with less than a year to the global championships. Led by former KRU chairman, Mwangi Muthee who is the games chief executive officer says the committee is stuck due to the fact that the ministry for sports is yet to release funds for the games. The government is expected to fund 80% of the games budget.
