Monday Night News 19th September 2016: Orengo accuses Jubilee of IEBC sabotage

The much touted cross party deal on electoral reforms appears headed for turbulent times ahead after one of the co-chairs Senator James Orengo accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of undermining its implementation. The Siaya senator is pointing an accusing finger at the president for allegedly delaying signing two elections’ laws that had strict timelines. According to Orengo who co-chaired the parliamentary select committee on IEBC alongside Senator Kiraitu Murungi, the Jubilee administration was out to derail electoral reforms as no meeting had been convened with treasury and salaries remuneration commission to prepare a sendoff package for the IEBC commissioners
