The Meru miraa producing region this week breathed a collective sigh of relief, following the news that miraa exports into Somalia would restart immediately. This follows a meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Somali counterpart Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud on the sidelines of the IGAD gathering in Mogadishu.
