Jubilee party holds first delegates convention and picks Uhuru Kenyatta as its flag bearer

We begin here in Nairobi where the newly crafted Jubilee party held its 1st national delegates’ convention, and endorsed President Uhuru Kenyatta as the party leader. The more than 5000 delegates also picked Deputy William Ruto as the deputy party leader. Over 30 MPs from CORD, largely from wiper party announced their defection to Jubilee. The event was temporarily delayed when delegates demanded payment of their allowances.
