The capital markets authority will institute tough new measures to tighten financial reporting standards in response to corporate governance scandals that have recently rocked companies in Kenya. The move which is expected to tighten corporate governance for listed companies will bring comfort to depositors, shareholders and others who have in the past been negatively affected by the collapse of various institutions due to internal financial malfeance.
