National carrier KQ has introduced a shuttle bus service that will ferry passengers from the central business district to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) as part of its turnaround strategy.
The airline notes that the service to cost 1000 shillings will see the KQ shuttle buses depart from the central business district at 6.00, 11.00 and 5pm from the sirios car park on Loita street in the city centre. Departures from JKIA to the city centre will be at 9, 2 and 9pm. In contrast, on a daily basis, passengers traveling to JKIA by public services vehicles pay 100 shillings, while fare estimates for uber taxi’s range between 870 shillings to 1093 shillings. Depending on several factor like distance and time taken to destination due to traffic density and waiting time.
