The new casualties on the electoral reforms may be the politicians

It now turns out that the biggest casualties of the electoral reforms may be Kenyan politicians themselves. The select committee has agreed that the new IEBC will conduct and supervise political party nominations on the request of parties, but once your name is published as a candidate in one political party, you cannot defect and contest in a different party for that particular election.

MPs have committed to ensure that seven new electoral commissioners are in office not later than September 30, some 10 months to the General Election.
