IG, Joseph Boinett says there could be Al-Shabaab sympathizers within police service
16th July, 2016
The inspector general of police Joseph Boinnet has said he can no longer rule out the idea that there could exist sympathizers of the terror group Al-Shabaab within the national police service. Speaking during a first aid inter-regional competition at the GSU training camp in Nairobi’s Embakasi, the head of the police service said that counter-terrorism units were also focusing their attention towards sleeper-cells that may exist within the service. The statement comes two days after a police officer in Kapenguria police post reigned terror on his colleagues, killing six.
