Elijah Gachiri Kabubu remembers operation thunderbolt of 4th of July 1976 in Entebbe, Uganda

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reminded East Africans about the much talked about hostage rescue mission in Uganda in 1976 in which his brother was killed. When operation thunderbolt happened on the 4th of July 1976 in Entebbe, Uganda,Kenya’s involvement was a heavily guarded secret. It remained so for decades, especially for the 18 GSU commandoes who played an important role helping the Israeli commandoes and hostages on transit through the JKIA. Ktn’s Dorcas Wangira sat down with one of those commandoes. Here’s the story of Elijah Gachiri Kabubu.
