In a bid to improve competitiveness of the dairy sector, improve stability of milk producer prices and understand distribution of profits along the value chain, the Kenya Dairy Board commissioned Egerton University’s Tegemeo Institute of Agricultural policy & development to undertake a study on the cost of milk production. The study was aimed at identifying areas of intervention with a view of improving farmer and other value chain player earnings.
