Fusion capital has today launched the first ever development real estate investment trust D-REIT in a move set to drive fresh capital into the highly lucrative property market. The D-REIT is looking to raise at least 2.3 billion shillings by way of listing at the Nairobi securities exchange after the company got a greenlight from the industry watchdog, the capital markets authority. The development REIT was conceptualized in Kenya in 2012 to ensure that players can channel public investment into real estate development from scratch and not to established income generating property as it has been in the past
