A particularly severe dry harmattan has put pressure on Ghana's cocoa season and raised uncertainty about prospects for the mid-year crop, even after the rainy season set in. While weather conditions have improved compared with last year, farmers said rains, which started in March and are vital to the development of the light crop, have been insufficient and patchy.
