There was drama in Nyeri when more than 20 members of the county assembly were chased out of a meeting convened by county governor Nderitu Gachagua. The MCAs had to scamper to safety as some unidentified men descended on them with whips and kicks as they flushed them out of the meeting at Mbiriri area in Kieni. Some of the county representatives including the local county assembly deputy speaker are said to have suffered soft tissue injuries. The attack follows claims that the MCAs were out to disrupt the launch of a 12 kilometre road project by governor Gachagua. The governor who was to launch the road project arrived minutes after the drama.
