HELB to intoduce student smart cards to ease loan disbursement

The higher education loans board has tapped the KCB group to run student smart cards, a move meant to ease student loan disbursement. This comes as helb moves to scrap bank account loan disbursements in a move meant to seal leakages and improve efficiency. KCB becomes the first bank to roll out the smart cards partnering with three universities, with six other banks expected to be roped in by helb.
