HIV prevalence in Kenya has decreased with 2% in the last five years. This is according to health cabinet secretary James Macharia. Joint efforts by the government and donor funding have contributed to increase public awareness of the virus and its effects. However, the cabinet secretary says more needs to be done to attain the ministry’s goal of less than 4% HIV prevalence. He was speaking at the closure of the total war against HIV and aids project funded by the world bank.
