Exactly one year and 11 days ago, Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta and William Samoei Ruto were sworn into office to lead Kenya for a period of five years. The ceremony followed a hotly-contested presidential election whose results were eventually challenged in the Supreme Court. That highest court in the land declared the duo to have been validly elected into office and gave them the green light to take the oath of office.
