former confederation of African football (caf) elite match commissar Mohamed Omar Abubakar passed on this morning in Mombasa. Abubakar who was popularly known as Babji died at coast general hospital after developing breathing problems according to family members and was buried according to Muslim rites. the deceased commitment to football administration elevated him to the appointment as an elite caf match commissar, a role he executed well promoting the image of the country in the continent. he started football administration in the 1970s as fixtures secretary where he served in various positions ranking from the secretary, treasurer at the KFF coast region and later national executive member.
