With just five acres of land Dr Chris Kiptoo, who is the permanent secretary in the ministry of environment decided to venture into dairy farming at least to demonstrate to his village folk that they could fight poverty with the resources the little resources they had had. When Standard digital visited Dr Kiptoo at Kimore farm in Uasin Gishu County he said the neighbours owned many herds of cattle besides large swaths of land but meeting their daily demands posed. With the use of technology, at the moment Dr Kiptoo owns 71 pedigree animals with 22 lactating producing a minimum of 600 litres of milk per day all sold at farm gate prices.
