Debate on the need to re-introduce caning in schools revived after increased school unrest

7th December, 2021

The unending school fires and wanton destruction of school property by unruly students have once again revived talk on the need to reintroduce caning in schools.

Education Cabinet Secretary, prof. George Magoha and his interior counterpart, Dr. Fred Matiang’i, say handling learners with soft gloves has spoilt them.
