Kenya Forest Service (KFS) officers shot and deflated tyres of a vehicle transporting logs. This is part of efforts by the KFS to step up conservation of forests in Kericho County. County Ecosystem Conservator Stephen Kahunyo, says they have confiscated at least ten Toyota Probox vehicles that were found ferrying forest cider poles, logs and charcoal. In the latest incident, a team of multi-agency officers were forced to shoot the tyres of a Probox vehicle which was ferrying cider poles illegally harvested from Londiani forest. Investigations reveal that the illegal trade involves merchants in Kericho and Kisumu.
