The acting Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu told the Parliamentary Committee that she refused to register Tanga Tanga movement and Mafisi Alliance as political parties because the names are abusive, offensive and obscene. Nderitu was speaking during a vetting exercise by a Parliamentary Committee. Members of the Committee called for an audit and cleanup of the political membership register to rid it of irregularities.
