The country's political milieu has been thrown into a spin following a petition filed by a member of parliament seeking to block deputy president William Ruto from ascending to presidency come 2022.

Kisumu central MP Fred Ouda is seeking the amendment of the constitution together with the country's sectoral laws, something that could seal the fate for Ruto.

Ouda wants the office of the president and deputy president viewed inseparable And therefore deemed to have served two five year terms and thus ineligible to run for another term.
