Jubilee Vice‑Chairperson David Murathe was interrogated by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission over some 25 million shillings he allegedly received from a company linked to former Lugari Mp Cyrus Jirongo. EACC believes that part of the amount paid to Murathe came from controversial land transactions in which the Nairobi county government made payment of 250 million shillings to Jirongo. Murathe has denied any involvement in a conspiracy to defraud the county government.
