KTN Investigations has uncovered what intelligence sources allege is an organised network involved in the theft and resale of electronic equipment worth millions of shillings.
The alleged syndicate is said to involve Indian national Ashish Sha, a Parklands-based dealer in second-hand electronics who also installs LED screens in churches locally and abroad.
According to intelligence sources, Sha allegedly operates a network of individuals referred to as “spanner boys”, who are accused of stealing electronic equipment from unsuspecting victims before delivering the items to him for resale.
As part of an ongoing investigation, KTN obtained CCTV footage from cameras installed at the businessman’s Parklands residence as well as footage from churches where electronic equipment was delivered.
The footage appears to capture the movement and delivery of equipment worth millions of shillings, which investigators suspect could be stolen.
KTN’s investigation examines the alleged network, how the equipment is reportedly sourced and moved, and the questions raised by the surveillance footage.
KTN Crime and Investigative Journalist Lenox Sengre takes a closer look at the alleged syndicate and the trail of electronic equipment at the centre of the investigation.
