A week after Standard Group Associate Editor Alex Kiprotich was allegedly abducted in a brazen roadside attack, investigators are intensifying the search for surveillance footage that could provide crucial leads in the case.
The probe is now focusing on CCTV and other surveillance footage along the route of the incident, with investigators hoping to identify individuals and vehicles that could shed light on Kiprotich’s disappearance.
However, questions are emerging over the pace of the investigation and whether authorities have moved with the urgency expected in a case involving the alleged abduction of a journalist.
Our investigations team has been tracing the evidence from the scene of the incident to Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) offices and the Standard Group newsroom, uncovering fresh questions about surveillance footage that could help investigators establish what happened and identify those behind Kiprotich’s alleged abduction.
