DCP candidate refuses to withdraw despite DAPK calls

10th October, 2025

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has concluded the clearance of aspirants for major by-elections scheduled for November 27. In Malava, tensions are rising as the DCP Party insisted its candidate will not withdraw, despite appeals from DAPK. The candidate was officially cleared to contest on Thursday. Meanwhile, in Mbeere North, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has issued a strong call to voters to support the party’s parliamentary candidate, Leonard Muthende, as campaigns gain momentum ahead of the polls.
