Families who lost their children during the Gen Z protests are crying out for justice, months after the fatal encounters with security forces that left a trail of grief across the country. Many say they have received no official communication, no investigations have been concluded, and no one has been held accountable for the killings. In Nairobi, Kisumu, and Nakuru, parents continue to visit mortuaries, police stations, and human rights offices, searching for answers and hoping for closure. Civil society groups have condemned what they term as a “systematic cover-up” and are calling on the government to fast-track independent investigations and offer reparations to the affected families. The pain of delayed justice, they say, is only deepening their wounds.
