President Uhuru Kenyatta has finally assented into law, the controversial Political Parties Amendment Bill 2021 thus affecting it.

The bill that saw legislators divided into those backing handshake and those opposing it now introduce the concept of coalition political parties, outlining functions of political parties as well as changing the criteria of accessing the political parties fund.

The opponents of the act have already threatened to challenge it in a court of law on grounds that there was no proper public participation.
