Sexual and Gender-Based Violence is a key deterrent for women to participate effectively in political spaces.  At a stakeholders forum earlier today, it was observed that violence against women in politics has been  "normalized" as part of political practice and the contest for power, yet it has severe implications on women and girls physically, emotionally, and mentally.
