For ages, residents of Eresteno village in Wajir North have been crossing the border to Ethiopia in search of water. It is now a sigh of relief for them following the commissioning of a large multipurpose dam that will sort out their water problems. The dam dubbed Peace Dams has been constructed by the Ewaso Ngiro North Development Authority which will alleviate water shortages in the area and avert perennial conflicts between pastoralist communities.
