Venue of Madaraka Day celebrations could be changed following fears of possible spike in Covid cases

The state is considering moving the venue of the upcoming Madaraka day celebrations from the newly constructed Jomo Kenyatta international stadium in Mamboleo, Kisumu to Kisumu state lodge. According to state house spokesperson Kanze Dena, the move is necessitated by the growing concern about the number of people who may want access to the venue at a time there are fears of a spike of a new strain of covid-19 in the lakeside city of Kisumu.
