Red alert as five people test positive for the new Indian COVID-19 variant in Kisumu

Tonight, there is heightened surveillance in Kenya’s ports of entry after the ministry of health announced that the deadly Indian coronavirus variant was detected in the country. Five people from India are said to have tested positive with the variant. Though Kenya’s positivity rate has dropped to 11%, Kenyans have been urged to be more careful than before.
